a little humor break!

How many of us struggled through a reading/article and realized that the author just used a bunch of fancy words to state something very simple ;)

Megan's Quest

I visited The Art For Arts Sake Gallery where there are 6 floors of floor to ceiling art. The first 2 floors house works created by Second Life residents and the 6th floor is devoted to modern art. My picture is on the 6th floor in front of "Hand with Reflecting Sphere" by MC Escher. (Baba Yaga 239, 125,123)

Volunteer Moms in the school

My research topic is the Art Masterpiece volunteers at an elementary school. If anyone comes across any articles on volunteers or the Art Masterpiece program, I would love to hear about it!

Shoshana's Art Quest & Postcards

I went to Victoriana Square (105, 174, 33) and visited the Pre-Raphaelite gallery.

It was full of works my Millais, mostly, and a fair amount of Rosettis and other Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood members.

Located in a pretty 4-story building.... took me awhile to find the paintings I like, such as "Ophelia" by Arthur Hughes and "April Love," which I saw in the Tate (in real life!).

Kimby Schaller's Second Life Quest

Found the first one at Classic Painting Art Gallery Museum at 42, 107, 58. It was pretty neat. All the classics. The second one I found at Crusty Palmer's Gallery located at 189, 121, 25. This gallery was interesting because it had a lot of pop art. My personl favorite.

Next conversation: Our Research Topics

Hi everyone,
I think we should share our (possible) research topics for our final papers. I know that I am in need of any help I can get :) , and I'm sure we could all use some help in what direction we should go in.

I found a great book on qualitative research through Google Books - Qualitative Research and Evaluation Methods by Patton (2002). It's published by Sage, which is a major publisher for qualitative research methods. Check it out...

Debbi's Second Life Quest

Go to Bowling Green University's Creation Island (254, 255, 33).
Find the gallery exhibit for the on-line Art 101 class.

Click on students' artwork and read their statements on interpreting famous artworks in a new way.

Find the art department's other galleries. Click on students' artwork for artist statements.

Find the Planetarium - technically a science area, but beautiful!

Alexa's Second Life Quest

Go to Museum of SL Photography. Look for the butterflies - can you find them?
(This site is labeled mature, but I couldn't find anything shocking...)

Next hunt: can you find Fallingwater by Frank Lloyd Wright in SL?
